Gates Gatesway 80 Power supply

As the (in Dutch) article on this site states, I helpt restoring an 70ties Gates Gatesway 80 broadcast console. Please read the Dutch article. 
For this restoration I build a replacement Power supply. This replacement PSU with serial number 00000 was very positively received and wil be under live testing on the intended Gates Gatesway 80 Mono mixing console, during the Christmas holiday 2024. 
Mean while I decided to build these supplies to order in Two versions. 

Please keep in mind it is NOT an Original PSU but a Replacement, built to Order from Original specifications.  I have no intensions for mass production nor do I intent to break copyright rules. There is no commercial intent in building these PSU.   Therefor the PSU unit does look different then the original.
Build to Order so no “shelf live” and as a bonus I can personalize it to suite your taste! And it is BRAND NEW!

The “Gates” logo in the typ label is mend to make it very recognizable and there for clear for what use and apparatus is was constructed.

It Takes Time and effort to build these in a nice way!!!

The original power supply is often lost during transition from active live to storage and final resell. And it seems they where made from Unobtainium.  And it is almost impossible to find an original power supply.

Even Gates can not sell you a replacement supply.

This Replacement power supply ONLY fits the Harris/ Gates Gateway 80 MONO Broadcasting Mixing console. 

 

Two versions of the Gates Gatesway 80 Power supply

The standard version of this replacement aftermarket power supply comes with:

• “Drop in” Special build Iron core IE Power Transformer.
• Vintage Green Steel Top Transformer Bell.
• Aluminium Aloy 88x38x120mm Undercase.
• Left and Right steel mounting “ears” .
• 2 meter Console connector cable with Jones 6 pin Connector set
  (female installed, male as console replacement connector  included.)
• Wired as 115 volts mains or 230 volts mains connection.
• Fuse holder with fuse.
• Euro/ Shucko style Mains connection (no powercord included)
• Personal wishes are possible but lead to more work so higher price.

This regular supply is as close as I can get to a original but with modern safety standards and mounting demands.
This power supply is build with safety in mind but not a safety certified.

Cost will be arround € 350,– (about $ 370,–)  excluding shipment and Local import taxes.

The Toroidal version of the replacement aftermarket power supply comes with:

• 2 seperate “Bolt on” Toroidal transformers
  Also possible 1 special build Toridal tranformer.
• 2 steel Transformer Bells in Vintage Green
• Aluminium Aloy 106x55x250mm Undercase
• 2 meter Console connector cable with Jones 6 pin Connector set (female installed, male as console replacement connector  included.)
• Wired as 115 volts mains or 230 volts mains connection.
• Fuse holder with fuse
• Euro/ Shucko style Mains connection (no powercord included)
• Personal wishes are possible but lead to more work so higher price.
