Of course, there are very good amplifier builders, and there are “tube sleuths,” and there are repairers with real tube knowledge.

They are rare.

You’re probably perfectly capable of ordering tubes from a supplier and installing them in your own amplifier. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just keep doing it.
Know that if that doesn’t solve your problem, you can always go to a real repair shop…
There are very few of them in the Netherlands, and I’m proud to count myself among the latter group.

Guitar Amplifier Repair

Repairing requires that you can read schematics to understand what’s being done. It requires that you know how a tube reacts to certain settings and how to optimize those settings.
